O
●Do we have product certification specifically for BIPV?
Yes, Sunshine Tile has been tested against IEC63092. IEC63092 includes acoustic properties test, pendulum test, solar heat gain tests for glasses used on buildings, as well as fire resistance and burning tests for building materials. We have obtained the certification from TUV Nord in Dec 2022.
●Does Sunshine needs bracket for installation?
No need for bracket, Sunshine product is installed by two hooks to fix it on the tile batten.
●Installation speed. How long does it take to install a Sunshine tile roof?
34-50m2 per day. The installation process varies depending on the scope of the project. The installation is quick and easy as SunshineTiles come with larger tile panels than individual tiles and clip-on bracket system.
●How to install Sunshine Tiles on existing roofs? In Australia, there are many curved tiles, can they be adapted?
Once the dimensions are confirmed to be suitable, Sunshine tiles can be directly replaced with traditional roof tiles. However, they are currently not compatible with curved tiles.
●What is the self-cleaning fucntion?
Sunshine has no bottom frame, rain can flow the dirt down.
●What materials are used to ensure a long period of quality assurance?
The frame is made of Anodized Aluminum Alloy, which can provide 15 years warranty and 50 years expected life.
●Is it compatible with micro-inverters? How many pieces can meet the minimum start-up voltage? In cases where there are multiple roof orientations and the number of MPPT inputs on the inverter is insufficient?
Yes. In situations where there are multiple roof orientations and the number of MPPT inputs on the inverter is insufficient, micro-inverters can be considered as an option. According to Enphase specifications, one micro-inverter is expected to be connected to 5 pieces of Sunshine tiles. However, since micro-inverters do not allow for extension cables, it is possible that the span may become too long with five pieces of Sunshine tiles. One solution is to seek permission from the manufacturer to use extension cables.
●The installation techniques and compatibility boundary conditions of Sunshine tiles.
A hanging tile system is required.
Minimum roof slope: 17.5 degrees.
Thickness: 23.5mm (from tile surface to batten).
Left/Right overlapping: 16mm.
Batten spacing: 320-340mm.
●How to lap the edges of Sunshine tiles?
The Sunshine tiles have grooves on their left and right edges that can interlock with each other. Additionally, adapters are provided to securely interlock the grooves of the Sunshine tiles and the matching tiles.
●What is the difference between the maintenance of Sunshine tiles and PV modules?
Sunshine roof, being integrated into the roof and designed as a building material, requires minimum maintenance. As there is no mandatory standard for BIPV products for most countries, after installation, Sunshine Tiles is usually considered a part of a PV system, official maintenance schedule is similar to conventional PV modules due to the requirements and regulations for PV systems.
●What is the power density? Do Sunshine tiles have lower power than conventional PV modules?
The overlap area varies based on the hook specifications used, resulting in different exposed areas after installation. Therefore, the power output per square meter is approximately 160-175W/㎡. However, Sunshine tile can utilize more roof area thanks to its smaller sizes.
●Does the color of the Sunshine tile have effects on efficiency?
Ebony 84W.
●Maximum String voltage of Sunshine roof?
DC1500V
●As one of the building materials, can it meet the quality and lifespan requirements of building materials?
Sunshine tiles are designed with the same lifespan as the building, which can last for 50 years.
●How light is SunshineTile roof compared to other roof products?
Sunshine Tile roof is up to six times lighter than “conventional” roofing materials including clay and slate.
●Is SunshineTile roof fire-safe?
SunshineTile is classified as a non-combustible roofing material (Class A, according to the corresponding certification standard IEC 61730-2-MST23).
●How does the string configuration work? Are there cables on the backside or some click-system?
Sunshine Tile can be matched to multiple inverters on the market. Most residential inverters have 50V-80V start-up voltage, meaning we will need around 6 – 10 tiles, or 3-6 m2 of roof space to make a string.
●Do we provide designers/architects with design tools (digital models)?
Currently we have BIM models/CAD drawings of Sunshine Tiles for designers and architects to use. Sunshine Tiles can be inserted into several layout planning software such as Helioscope and Nearmap.
